Write the monthly client report with AI, for marketing agencies

Writing monthly client reports keeps you staring at raw exports long after your workday should be over. Hand the tables to AI to turn the data into a plain draft that explains what moved and what to try next.

What to gather first

Which app

For this one, a plain AI chat window is enough. Open the chat, paste what you gathered, and type the message below.

How to do it

  1. Paste the raw campaign data. Drop the exports and your meeting notes into the chat. AI reads the numbers alongside your notes on what changed during the month. It organizes the raw facts before writing.
  2. Add your preferred report layout. Paste an older report so AI sees how you talk to this client. AI matches your headings, section order, and plain style. It avoids industry buzzwords you usually cut out.
  3. Ask for the first draft. Tell AI to summarize the month into three sections: wins, misses, and plans. AI writes the summary paragraphs and pairs each claim with numbers from your files. It gives you an unpolished draft to refine.
  4. Read and fix the draft. Check that the draft highlights the work the client cares about most. Correct any interpretations of dips or spikes based on your talks with them. Copy the text into your presentation slide or email.

What to type first

I attached this month's campaign exports and my weekly client notes. Use the attached past report as a style guide. Draft a monthly update with three parts: what worked, what missed, and what we should test next. Use plain words. Do not send anything or make up numbers outside these files.

Change the words to match your business. AI follows what you say, so say what done looks like.

Before you trust it

Once this feels comfortable, you can have AI draft the agenda for your monthly review call.
