Turn a client call into a brief with AI, for marketing agencies
You hang up from a client call with pages of messy notes and a blank project brief waiting to be written. Hand those raw notes to AI to sort the goals, audience, and dates into a working draft.
What to gather first
- Raw notes from the call
- A past brief you liked
- The client project proposal
Which app
For this one, a plain AI chat window is enough. Open the chat, paste what you gathered, and type the message below.
How to do it
- Paste your messy call notes. Dump your raw notes directly into the chat window. Do not worry about typos, shorthand, or broken sentences. AI reads through the scramble.
- Add an old brief for shape. Paste one previous brief that worked well for your team. Tell AI to use those section headers and that tone. This keeps the new brief familiar to your designers and writers.
- Ask for the draft sections. Tell AI to pull out the project goal, target audience, key dates, and mandatories. AI groups the scattered remarks into those clean buckets. It leaves empty spots where the call skipped details.
- Fill in the gaps and polish. Read the draft and check the client requests against your memory of the call. Add your team's estimates and delete anything the client ruled out. Send the clean brief to your team.
What to type first
Here are my rough notes from today's client call, along with a past brief we used for another account. Draft a new creative brief using the sections from the old one. Group their goals, audience notes, dates, and requirements. Flag any missing details. Do not make up facts or send anything to the client.
Change the words to match your business. AI follows what you say, so say what done looks like.
Before you trust it
- Verify the client deadlines match what was agreed on the call.
- Make sure the target audience description reflects the client's actual customers.
- Look for flagged sections where the call did not cover project details.
Drop the finished brief back in to draft the kickoff email to your creative team.
