Write candidate pitch profiles with AI, for recruiters
You spend late evenings digging through call notes and resumes to pitch candidates to hiring managers. Hand the raw text to AI so you start with a clean draft instead of a blank page.
What to gather first
- The candidate's resume text
- Notes or transcript from your screening call
- The job description from the client
- One past pitch summary you liked
Which app
For this one, a plain AI chat window is enough: ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini. Open the chat, paste what you gathered, and type the message below. First time? Read how to talk to an AI.
How to do it
- Paste the candidate details. Copy the text from your interview notes and the candidate's resume. Paste both straight into your chat with AI. Add the client's job requirements right below them.
- Add your favorite sample. Paste an older pitch profile you wrote that worked well. Tell AI to match that layout, length, and tone. This shows AI how you talk to your hiring managers.
- Tell AI to draft the pitch. Send your prompt telling AI to pull out wins, salary notes, and role match. AI compares the candidate to the job description and writes a short summary. Read what it writes.
- Fix the details and send. Check the drafted summary against what the candidate said on the phone. Adjust any clunky sentences, fix years of experience, and paste it into your email to the client.
What to type first
I attached notes from my screening call, the candidate's resume, the client's job description, and a sample profile I like. Draft a one-page pitch summary for the hiring manager using my sample's layout. Highlight matches to the job and note any gaps. Do not invent facts, and do not send anything to the client.
Change the words to match your business. AI follows what you say, so say what done looks like.
Before you trust it
- Verify every skill listed in the pitch came directly from the interview notes or resume.
- Make sure the compensation and notice period match what the candidate stated.
Once you like these summaries, paste in candidate rejection notes to draft gentle feedback emails.
