AI Guides / AI for contractors

Write quotes from site visits with AI, for contractors

You finish on site, sit in the truck, and face an evening of turning rough measurements into a price. AI reads your job notes against your standard rates and drafts the quote so you can review it before dinner.

What to gather first

Which app

For this one, a plain AI chat window is enough. Open the chat, paste what you gathered, and type the message below.

How to do it

  1. Paste your standard pricing. Put your current labor rates and common material costs into the chat. AI holds these numbers in memory to price the work. You do not have to retype them by hand.
  2. Add your job notes. Type or paste what you saw on site, including measurements, scope, and specific client requests. AI sorts the work into trade tasks, parts, and labor hours. It flags items where details are missing.
  3. Include your quote terms. Copy over the payment schedule and standard exclusions from an old job. AI lines these terms up at the bottom of the new bid. It keeps your usual language intact.
  4. Review and adjust the draft. Read through the line items, quantities, and totals. Fix any trade assumptions AI made on labor hours or materials. Copy the text into your invoice or bid sheet to send to the client.

What to type first

Here are my notes from today's site visit, my current labor rates, and my terms from an old job. Draft a quote for this client. Break out parts, labor, and line items clearly, then list my standard payment terms at the bottom. Do not send anything to the client, and do not make up prices if they are not in my list.

Change the words to match your business. AI follows what you say, so say what done looks like.

Before you trust it

Once your bids run smoothly, you can drop site photos into AI to help list tear-out tasks before you price them.
