Cut down on missed sessions with AI, for tutors
You spend your evenings typing out reminder texts to students and chasing people who forgot to show up. Hand the notes and your calendar over so AI drafts the messages, leaving you to review and send.
What to gather first
- Your tutoring schedule for tomorrow
- Each student's current reading or homework task
- Two reminder texts you sent recently
- Your policy on late cancellations
Which app
For this one, a plain AI chat window is enough: ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini. Open the chat, paste what you gathered, and type the message below. First time? Read how to talk to an AI.
How to do it
- Paste your schedule and tasks. Copy tomorrow's list of students into the chat window. Add the short note on what each student agreed to bring or read. Include your past reminder texts so AI sees your voice.
- Ask for draft reminder texts. Tell AI to draft a short text for each session. AI reads the names, times, and homework items to build one personalized draft per student. It lines them up in order.
- Read and adjust the drafts. Check each text against what you know about the student. Tone down anything that sounds too formal or too harsh. Change any times that look off.
- Send the messages yourself. Copy each approved draft into your messaging app and tap send. Students get their details early, along with what to bring to the table.
What to type first
Here is tomorrow's student schedule, their homework tasks, and two reminder messages I sent last week. Draft a short, warm reminder text for each student. Mention their lesson time, what they need to have ready, and a line about letting me know early if plans change. Do not send anything.
Change the words to match your business. AI follows what you say, so say what done looks like.
Before you trust it
- Make sure each student's name matches their scheduled time.
- Verify the assigned reading or task matches what you gave them.
- Check that the tone sounds like you talking to a student or parent.
Try pasting your cancellation replies into AI to draft calm options for open slots.
