Update the menu and specials with AI, for restaurants

Writing fresh dish descriptions and weekend specials usually happens late at night after service. Let AI turn your ingredient notes and kitchen scribbles into appetizing drafts you can review over morning coffee.

What to gather first

Which app

For this one, a plain AI chat window is enough. Open the chat, paste what you gathered, and type the message below.

How to do it

  1. Paste your current menu descriptions. Copy the text from your existing menu into the chat. Tell AI which items stay and which rotate out. This gives AI your restaurant's tone and style.
  2. Add the raw kitchen notes. Type or paste the raw ingredient lists from the kitchen. Include any specific preparation details the chef emphasized. Do not worry about spelling or grammar here.
  3. Ask for two distinct lengths. Tell AI to write a short line for your printed table card and a longer version for your website. AI drafts both formats using your regular voice. You compare the options side by side.
  4. Review and mark allergens. Read each draft against the kitchen notes. Check that every ingredient matches what your suppliers delivered. Update your menu file with the lines you like best.

What to type first

Here is my current dinner menu and my chef's rough notes for this weekend's three new specials. Rewrite the new dishes to match the tone of my menu. Give me one short sentence for our printed insert and two sentences for our online ordering page. Call out dairy, nuts, and gluten. Do not make up ingredients or send anything to my site.

Change the words to match your business. AI follows what you say, so say what done looks like.

Before you trust it

Try using the accepted dish lines to draft your social posts for the weekend crowd.
