Explain policy coverages in plain words with AI, for insurance agents

Clients ask what their insurance actually covers, and you spend your day translating dense legal paragraphs into everyday speech. AI reads the declaration pages, spots the limits, and drafts a plain-language summary for your review.

What to gather first

Which app

For this one, a plain AI chat window is enough. Open the chat, paste what you gathered, and type the message below.

How to do it

  1. Paste the policy details. Copy the text from the policy declarations and exclusion forms into the chat. Leave out the client's name, address, and policy numbers. Add your sample email so AI matches your usual tone.
  2. Ask for plain bullet points. Tell AI to sort the terms into three groups: what is covered, what is not, and deductibles. AI reads the policy text and lists the main points in conversational sentences.
  3. Review limits and exclusions. Read the draft against the actual policy form. Watch for endorsements that alter standard terms or deductibles that apply only to specific perils. Edit any phrase that blurs a coverage boundary.
  4. Send the summary to your client. Paste the approved text into your email draft. Add your standard disclaimer noting the carrier policy controls all claims. Send it off to your client.

What to type first

Here is a policy declarations page and an exclusions list. Write a plain-language summary email to my client explaining what their policy covers, what it excludes, and their deductibles. Use short bullet points and everyday words like my sample note. Do not give legal advice, and do not send anything.

Change the words to match your business. AI follows what you say, so say what done looks like.

Before you trust it

Try using the same approach to compare renewal offers when a client faces a rate change.
